Canberra tech companies listed 285 new positions on local boards between 1 June and 10 July, a 19 percent jump from the same stretch last year.

Companies cite demand for engineers who can integrate productivity tools into government workflows and health data platforms.

Activity clusters around Braddon and Acton

Most postings come from firms based in Braddon along Lonsdale Street and from teams attached to the Australian National University innovation precinct in Acton. The Canberra Innovation Centre at 1 Moore Street has hosted three hiring events since late June, while the Kambri precinct at ANU has opened two new collaboration rooms for early-stage teams to interview candidates on site.

Recruiters report that entry-level software roles now carry salaries between $92,000 and $108,000, with senior data positions listed above $145,000. A June survey by the Canberra Business Chamber counted 1,140 active tech employees across 92 startups, up from 940 twelve months earlier.
